La Paz is a crazy place. Everyone you speak to seems to be there much longer than they origionally planned. Despite feeling this as well we enjoyed it and found it to be quite pleasant, despite the reports of it being polluted, grimy and dangerous.

We went out a couple of times, Wild Rover, Traffic and a couple of other clubs and spent our days walking around the witches market contemplating our options of trips. The witches market was not as ´spooky´as we imagined it to be, but rather more of just a tourists market. It did however sell alot of herbs and Alpaca foetus´ (a religious offering to the gods).

Contemplation over - we booked our pampas tour to Rurrenbeque and death road trip. For those that do not know what death road is . . . it is a road first and formostly, 63Km long that winds around mountains and gets as thin as a typical english pavement, but rocky. And people pay to go on a 5 hour mountain bike trip down it. The name of the road is well deserved as 31 people have died doing the trip in the last 15 years. The company that we went with had a english guy of 22 fall of one of the cliffs and die only last year. Due to this we were a bit scared, however once we got going we became more comfortable and realised that if we rode safely we would live to tell the tale. During the trip our guides would name each corner ´german corner´ ísriali corner´ and ´dutch corner´(named after the nationalities of people that had dies on them). When we got to the end we were relieved and enjoyed it, once Becca managed to shift out of her snail like gear (but she did really well after that!).
