Hello Limehouse! are you all enjoying January? Do you have snow yet??

I'm in Indonesia now! I can't even imagine seeing snow and being cold because it is SO, SO hot here! I'm on a really tiny island called Gili Trawangan. The people who live here laugh at the tourists because none of us know how to say 'Trawangan' properly. The locals tell us we say "Tralalalala' - which is true!

This island is so small that only about 700 people live here, it's definitely the smallest place I've been on my trip! It only takes two hours to walk around the whole island. The really cool thing about it is that there are no motorized vehicles at all. No cars, no scooters, nothing. People get around on bikes, or things called cidomo - which is a horse and buggy! It feels like I've travelled back in time!

Just like lots of places that I've been in Asia, it's very cheap here. I'm paying forty thousand Indonesian Rupiahs for one night of accommodation in a hostel - that's only about $4.50! The food is also very cheap, and very delicious. My favourite thing to eat here is called Nasi Goreng, which means fried rice. It's rice fried with vegetables and chillis (it's a bit spicy!) with a fried egg on top. Yum! Usually it costs about fifteen thousand Rupiahs, which is less than $2!

Pictures are added!

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend! Talk to you later!

Hi Becca,
I love all of the photos that you have been posting. Great job surfing! I have a question - do the Gili Islands have 24 hour electricity now? Years ago my husband and I were on Gili Air and they cut the electricity each night at 11:00 p.m. We slept with a flashlight. It was so beautiful there! I can understand why you are enjoying the beaches.
