We ran back to catch the bus back to Salisbury and walked through the town to the cathedral. We spent time in a park where the high spire of the cathedral was just visible over the trees. It was the largest and most impressive of all the cathedrals I have seen so far-it was so massive. I could have wandered around inside for hours. The ceiling was so high, the stained glass omnipresent, and I loved the grating inside. The magna carta was also very impressive; the room it is in is circular with stained glass windows all around and the magna carta was under glass, wrinkling and shrinking with age.
I love the fact that so many English towns are easily walkable. It is incomparable, all this strolling along winding narrow streets, with a nip in the air. It makes me feel that I am really on an adventure.
