Where I stayed

I have sadly left La Coruņa this morning, with a terrible headache. Iīm back in Barcelona for one day before heading to the eastern Europe! Iīm on the road again....

I saw more of Barcelona this time..... and itīs actually better than I thought at the beginning. Madrid and Barcelona.... I think I will still choose Madrid... hehe. Did some shopping at ZARA and Benetton. For once, I find myself insufficient of summer clothes. Usually, I do not have enough warm clothings. ZARA in Spain appears like supermarkets or convenience stores! I walked along this long shopping street and there are at least more than 8 ZARA stores. Maybe I should write a business plan to ZARA suggesting a chain of ZARA EXPRESS for some quick essential casual series! or maybe ZARA INTIMATES, to sell just lingeries and boxers..... I am now at an internet cafe, sitting at one of the 10 stations in this row, and 2 are carrying zara bags (well, including myself).

I Am Touched
Thinking about the 5 weeks I spent in Spain in is such memorable. 5 weeks is quite a long time for holiday, and I feel attached to this lovely country. I have not made so many local friends in such intense period. I feel Iīm well accepted here (i hope). Iīve been to cities and places that usual tourists would not visit. I have stayed in houses that tourists would not otherwise have the opportunities. I am invited to lunch and dinner and gatherings over and over again. Each time I left a place, I was told to come back. I am truly touched. Some say spaniards are lazy and only party. I cannot judge. But I know Javier and Txerra (and many more) work long hours during the week. When it comes to weekend, friends gather and laugh together. The feeling is so nice....and real. Juan asked me what my true opinions of Spanish people are...

here you go...īMany do not speak English, but have the eagerness to learn. I thought only French knows how to cook. But Iīm wrong. You guys cook perfecto! and of course a little crazy sometimes, but I like it. Itīs a pity that I still do not speak spanish in sentences. Only if the weather is always sunny and even a little bit would be perfect for me.ī

Seriously, I would not have stayed so long if I did not enjoy myself. Tourist attractions can wait, I can immerse myself just by looking at pictures and travel documentaries. But itīs YOU people who make a difference to my life and you form an important part of my journey in Europe.

ĄAdios Espaņa!

*in tears*

Hi Joyce,

Well, first of all allow me to tell you that you describe Spain very accurately according to the few weeks you have been living here.
The second point I would like to address is that your entries are very well written and many of you readers would love to have the opportunity to live your experience in such a nice and long journey.

By the way, could you possibly consider to explain in your blog the details of the programme you got involved with? Who organize it, how did you decide to enrol and everything...
I think that what you are doing is really interesting and your explanations could become a source of inspirations for other people.

In the mean time... enjoy your stay in Central Europe.
