Hand written then entered on computer... One painful finger type at a time...impressed we're getting to computer territory mind!
Then it ground to a halt...
Only the chief can stamp the passports and he's still at home with the stamp! The power is in the stamp. Wait 1 hour into he cheerfully turns up and asks to see us... 2 stamps issued no problem just 2 hours later!
I can't believe we're entering Angola already, the passport was so difficult to get and it feels like a final run from now!
Hmm angolan border not much better...nothing interesting about ridiculous bureaucracy! I can handle a delay in the border border post in the middle of nowhere but when you're all computered up in little bibs and you've changed your AK for a bunch of keys and the need to know every detail of my travel them I'm irritated and I think you're a bit of a cock!
2 and half hours later we exit with the most valuable stamp in the world! It's now an afternoon drive to nzeto. Angolans seem friendly but there seems to be a need to have a flag on every single opportunity marking an allegiance? maybe I've got a preconception but it feels somewhat forced!
Anyhoo got to Mbanza Congo and suddenly found ourselves being followed by a police van with 4 armed cops... Everywhere we went they were sure to follow, even into the bank to change dollars! When I asked why they said it was protection and there was no problem! I'm a bit paranoid thinking we're in for an elaborate bribe fest. 120km out of town they stop us to say good bye...eh! Danger over apparently and we're free to go, no charge! Must be a slow day at the station!
No fuel on the way..
Oh and no toilet unless you fancy sharing a cell...
Aiming for Luanda tomorrow and hopefully decent fuel! Can't survive any more on the rubbish from the side of the road!
Today's day two of LM time... More on that later!!
