Spent the morning of oct 1st at the Douane sorting paper work. Helped again by the good people we are staying with, in a way I feel like we're cheating a bit having all this help but without it it's incredible daunting. After the asmin morning we joined a load of expat Frenchmen at a local bar, beers were flowing by midday but bizarrely Adrian and I didn't. As they drank groups of more affluent local women came and went, a mixture of wives and girlfriends. We went back to the camp and had a "Senegalese lunch" of fish rice and tamarind sauce followed by local mangoes, the biggest and sweetest I've ever tasted. Dinner was pretty much the same but this time prawns from estuary (crevet).

We left for Dakar early this morning to get to the ivory coast embassy as we're still not sure if the border to Ghana is open. Hope it is as I don't fancy Mali as an option. The traffic in Dakar was a nightmare...moved 4km in hour as we entered the city...naturally my bike giving me a headache and starting to overheat!

We met Cheikh, a friend of andys who's helped us find good cheap accommodation and showed us the way to the embassy, nice guy, we should meet up again later for a beer.

Could definitely do with one, it's 40 degrees and so humid my shirts are soaked!
