Hmm awful auberge last night so thank god for the excitement of riding! We set off before sunrise and the days heat to try and reach Dakhla with enough room for photos and more food. The food is always good but every meal feels like its the "one"! Had a sleepless night thinking about the chicken from the side of the road...(might be a joke in there?).

Loads of police checks today (7 in total) as we crossed into western Sahara, some friendlier than others but each one took all our details, thank goodness for the "fiches". Give a man a badge, a gun, a hat, drop him in the middle of nowhere and tell him he's in charge!

The second last wasnt actually a police check but a speed trap, we got a ticking off! I think it was playing absolutely stupid that let us get away with it. The very official cop wasn't happy every time he said kilometers and pointed at the speedometer we would smile and say yes many while pointing at the map! I think the thought of arresting buffoons put him off. Haha new tactic employed.

Saw lots of UN military convoys too, starting to feel a bit more serious. Western Sahara is still an unconfirmed territory and with everything going on in Mali we presume it's linked.

On the positive side we made good progress and saw some amazing stuff...again! Saw camels!!!
