After being dropped of by the Arab Tom Selleck at the bike shop that over the phone had assured be they not only had magura mineral oil but they could also help fit the new clutch slave (still naively optimistic) it dawned on me that this tiny, very dirty and very cluttered little shop may not actually be the place we were supposed to be!

I think Adrian and I both know it but have chosen not to talk about...

After spending the rest of the day trawling the town for mineral oil we were absolutely shattered. Rory has sent me oil by his company courier but the delivery address was a real concern so it was only at this point that I decided to find an Internet connection to double check the address, as expected we are about 4 blocks out!!! Thanks Tom,

Nothing else to do but go looking for the correct address where the oil is going to be delivered and already I'm starting to think how I'm going to ask if it's ok for the delivery to be accepted. More disappointment ahead as we head down a dark and deserted street to find what is rue de Marrakech!

To cut a long story short we ask around and find Ali Babas car hire. Ali is a big guy with a big deep voice who makes jokes about Ali being his real name and the obligatory Bruce Willis gag about mine, never gets tired here! Ali turns out to a huge bike fan and rides a Transalp, he can't wait to phone his mate Smiley, an equally big man with a skin head and long "Osama" style beard and traditional dress. He rushes over to meet the rider of the broken ktm. Immediately we're whisked into Alis office so he can show us pictures of their biker weekends in the desert, including Smiley slaughtering a goat, nicknamed killer now! Haha how we laughed!

Ali tells us to come back in the morning and we will go look for the oil and he will introduce me to the best mechanic in morocco.

We arrive at 10am sharp Nd he says we have to go for breakfast, after tea and haasha we piled into his car and drive around town being introduced to everyone. Salaam, salaam and that's about it while he rabbits away in arabic for 10 mins while we wait. Hearing the occasional KTM lifts me only to be dropped again when a frown and shake of the head follows. By midday were back at his shop and we leave him in peace.

What a great person, again! I'm not sure a man in England or south Africa for that matter would close his business for half a day, drive around town and buy breakfast for a couple of strangers just because he like bikes?! He said it was because he's not a terrorist with a wink and a huge guffaw!

I think I need a hall of fame for all the brilliant people I've met so far!

Opinion of Moroccans and Arabs changed forever!!
