Where I stayed
This was necessitated by our lack of a van as ours had recently gone onto the big junkyard in the sky. Not too shabby though it clocked out at 13 years old and 315 000 kilometres on the odometer (without a new timing belt may I add). Gotta love Toyotas.
So on our way in the traffic stopped abruptly as I noticed off to my left over the median a car on it's roof with it's wheels still spinning! A few people were standing around and one guy was rubbing his eyes. Possibly the driver who fell asleep and flipped his car? Good times, good times.
So we packed up our stuff and headed to Maine. The previous night amongst all the packing and laundry-doing we'd gotten the call that our house had sold
Soon after,we started driving, probably around 11 a.m., we got a call on our cell that our offer for the house we wanted to buy had come back with a counter which we promptly accepted! Yoo hoo!
Now on to our vacation!
The drive to Maine is quite pretty; lots of nice little wooded areas and pretty rivers along the way. We got through the border with very little time; only losing all four of my beer limes and my lemon as there is some issue with citrus coming into the U.S.
Had a spot of trouble finding the actual cottage but found Bucksport, the closest town, without any problem.
Called the owner/renter and in we went. Beautiful oceanview from everywhere and a lovely cottage with lots of room. My favourite room was the addition they'd put on the back of the house which was wall to wall windows and closed in so you could enjoy the view without the mosquitoes.
Now, pass me a Rolling Rock!
