Cabbed it once again with Luis Antonio.  This time to the Miraflores Locks.  Spent the $8 for the complete ticket so that we could do the entire building.  The greeter guy was very nice.  Perhaps a little too interested but very friendly.  He spoke excellent English and probably some other languages as well besides Spanish. As for my Spanish I did pick up some useful words on this trip.  Much more than in Cuba.  I'd love to learn more, I just don't have anyway to practice...
Did the video showing the construction of the Canal.  Also, watched a huge Chinese container ship transit the Canal over an hour or two.  Watched from the fourth floor observation area and perused the gift shop.
My friend the greeter dubbed me Miss Canada and kept coming over to "help" us.  I'm not sure if pageant contestant really suits me but he seemed to think so.
It was raining a little so we felt like this was a good day to see the locks.  Not terribly hot.
Our cabbie picked us up and dropped us at Allbrook mall.  Huge place, not enough time but goods are so cheap!  Why didn't we know of this before?
Six dollar skirt, eight dollar sweater and a lovely $20 sundress were purchased.  12 pack of Advil only $1.86.  Mucho cheapo.  I wish I'd known earlier.
Returned to the hotel in time to chat with the family.  Everyone is well at home.  Not nearly as warm of course, only rain there right now.
Had a lovely dinner at the restaurant.  I think this was the night they did Mexican. That pico de gallo was amazing!
Also, if anyone is wondering about the staff they were all so great.  Lovely, charming young ladies waitressing and sweet guys like Ruben, 23 years old and always coming over to say hello to us and practice his English.
Panama is really a gem when it comes to visitors.  The mugging aside I really enjoyed it here.  And I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel.  The beach isn't much but the resort has five pools.  Beautiful grounds too.
