I drove through Amherst in search of breaky.  Nice place, lots of old buildings.  Was very quiet - oh yeah, stat holiday!

I couldn't decide which route or direction I should take to see Nova Scotia and ended up just heading towards Cape Breton.  I know I want to see this area and I keep hearing people taking about the end of the season so maybe I should do this first - just in case.

Driving down this nice road and came into Tatamagouche and it was crazy!  There were cars and people everywhere.  Stopped at the VIC and found out that a parade was just about to start.  They close the road for it so why not watch!  It`s put on by the fire dept and is a local fundraiser and by the amount of people - very popular.  Chatted with a few locals during it - met some nice people.  Overall a good - rather unexpected - time.

Back on the road I saw a sign for a lavender farm - why not!  I stopped there and a fellow gave me a tour and explained the different types of lavender and how they process it and what products they make.  Was a nice set up...maybe I should start a lavender farm...hmm...

I ended up in Pictou and went to the big VIC to get info on the city cause there were a couple things I read about that seemed fun.  Was advised that everything was closed for the stat holiday...poo.   Decided to get a campsite for the night and check out the town tomorrow.

Went to Harbour Light Campground and the guy was really amazed that I came all the way from BC on my own.  He let me choose a site (good cause the tent one werent great) and even gave me an adaptor so I could plug in my laptop!  I went back to pay him and refused, said it was on the house cause I brought the good weather with me!  It`s true though, I did bring the sun.

Went for a walk on the beach and even found two pieces of sea glass - yeah!  Had a peaceful evening.

Ya gotta love a parade! Everyone does! That was very nice of the campground guy to not charge you - very nice gesture!
