I'm liking Kenora, perhaps it's just the best scenery in weeks!   Had a great sleep in the car and yes, it rained most of the night - again.   Got packed up, chatted with the neighbours.  The english fellows are staying another day and the couple from Yellowknife are heading to Dryden.

I'm going to check out Kenora and if that takes all day then I'll stay another night - we'll see!  I headed to the potholes as the write up looked interesting.  There are only about 4 or 5 of them.  Some are full of debris and water but a couple looked very deep!

Next stop was Husky the Muskie - not sure of the story but who cares!  It's a big ass fish!

Then I wandered through downtown and checked out some stores like the Blue Heron - well known gift shop and they had ALOT of stuff.  It was really hot so went to the Museum for a break.  It's a nice little museum and they give you a tour book to read as you walk through it.  I liked the beaded indian clothes and the jingle dresses.  The museum kinda took you from past to present and had stories of local people. Can't complain for $3.39 ($3 plus 13% HST).

It was time to eat so went to Hap's for a pickerel sandwich. It was good!  I was going to take a picture but....

I felt I'd seen what I came to see so got on the highway and headed towards Dryden.  I didnt have any place to stay in find but when I got there I saw a campground sign and pulled in to the Northwestern Tent & RV Park.  The people here as sooo nice!  They have the campground up for sale and want to move to Vernon!  We talked for a while about the Okanagan and stuff.  They put me close to the office so I could get internet at my site and also to keep me close as I was traveling alone.   The place is very well kept and very clean!

I got to my site and who do I see??  My Yellowknife neighbours from Kenora!  Had a chat with them and then met their neighbours, two couples from Lethbridge!  haha, it was funny.  Of course all these people are retired so they gave me the 'be careful' talk to and holler if I needed anything.  So sweet.  There was also a couple from Switzerland (they didnt speak english) and a family from Quebec who were heading to the rockies.

It's much more social now that I'm not the provinces only tourist, hehe.

It started to rain just as I was putting up my tent but it didnt last long.  By 8pm everyone was in their RV's so I crawled into the tent - it's beeen a while.  Got some reading done and read some tourism books.  My phone needs to be charged so not sure when I hit the hay, felt weird being in the tent, haha.
