I had a great sleep in my car last night (didnt set up the tent cause all the rain is causing the ants to come to the surface and the campsite was covered in ant mounds).  I'm perfecting the car sleep!  Headed into Saskatoon and hit the local Denny's for some breaky and wireless internet.

My first stop was the Wanuskewin Heritage Park.  At this site there is evidence of people going back 6000 years and the centre is there so you can learn how the Northern Plains Indians lived. I was looking forward to some of the workshops ie) recent excavations, traditional dancing, cooking over open fires, etc ... BUT with the recent flooding, most of the trails which are in the valley were closed.  I did get to see the Buffalo Pound site (where they drove the bison over the cliff), the Sunburn Tipi Rings (still not sure about those) and the Medicine Wheel (which is cool, kinda like stonehenge ie) stones are strategically placed though we cant figure out why).   Other than some school kids, there weren't many people there - damn floods - so I found myself, yet again, wondering about by myself.  I hope this isn't becoming a trend.

It was quite warm out - okay...damn hot....and since I was already sweating and stinky I figured I should continue with the outdoor activities so I went to the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo.  I still haven't figured this place out.  It's a horticultural tree farm park with ball diamonds, bbq areas, mediation gardens, a wedding area and zoo.  Okay.  I wondered my stinky self around the zoo and got to get some baby goats.  Goats are really cute.

By the time I left it was 4:30pm and I had been in the sun ALL day.  Decided to get a motel as I seriously needed to get out of the heat.

Ends up, there was a storm coming and it thundered and lightening and rained - yet again!  I'm really feeling sorry for Saskatchewan.

Who'd have thought Sask would be so wet eh? Odd year. Unfortunate you couldn't take in all the sights at the Indian Centre - it looked quite interesting. Hot day on the homefront and all well. Hope the same for you (the well part not the 35 temp)! Look forward to your next entry! Til then...
