Although time consuming, perhaps this blog is a good thing cause I'm already starting to blur my days together!
Got up early in Moose Jaw to get the hell out of there! I only saw the downtown core and can't say I was impressed.
The drive to Regina was quick and my first stop was the Legislative Building. Took a tour with a couple from Quebec and they gave me some 'must see' stops in Q. Not sure what to say about the legislative building, it was nice, lots of marble. The custom woodwork was done by one man,it took him 4 years and he was only 17 when he started. I asked whatever happened to him but they dont know. It's actually something the tour staff are looking into as they would like to know too
When the tour was over and I walked out the front doors - at that exact moment - this huge crowd in front started cheering. I had a Forest Gump moment til I realized it was a rally to support the casino workers who are on strike. I walked around the legislative building in Wascana park and saw the lake. It was really pretty and a good place to take a moment and enjoy the sunshine.
Then I went to the Goverment House. This was the former Lieutenant Governor's residence and has been stored to what it looked like in 1891. This was a self guided tour, which I like the best, got to wander through and read little stories and chill.
I was now hungry so when downtown Regina and wandered around looking for a restaurant I saw in the tourism guide, Beer Bros Bakery. Saw City Hall and the park, then....yay...found the place! I had schnitzel with a big ass hoe. Perfect!
It was 4:30ish when I got back to the car and couldn't think of anything else I wanted to see so headed north towards Saskatoon. Came across Blackstrap Provincial Park and decided to spend the night there. The sites were quite private and it was nice being right on the water though trees lined the shore. Time to relax and read up on Saskatoon!
