As I'm sure you can guess, I didn't get the best sleep last night!  It rained allll night and I was up at 6am.  i wanted to get the hell out of dodge - make sure I still could on those roads!  I got through okay and headed to Fort Walsh.  I ended up there at 7:30am and had a couple hours to kill before it opened.  I brushed my teeth, took out the garbage, reorganized stuff, read..

Went into the centre at 9:45am ish and I was the first customer of the day!  Walked through the museum, watched a film then the bus came to drive me down to the fort.  We couldn't go to the site of the massacre cause of the rain/condition of the road.   No worries cause me being the only guest, I had a Fort Walsh NWMP guide all to myself.   Mario gave me a tour and the history of the fort.   It was pretty interesting and I got to see where Sylvain was arrested and put on trial (which they do when they are busier).

When I left, there was only 2 more cars other than mine!  After I headed back towards Maple Creek and stopped at Saskatchewan's only winery - Cypress Hills Winery & Vineyard.  Had some samples which were mostly fruit wines and the Rhubarb was yummy!  Had lunch on their patio - was very nicely done and Star the dog was my best friend!

I hit the Number #1 again and headed to Swift Current.  Rolled into here 4pmish so grabbed a campsite for the night at Trail Campground.  Was able to do some laundry and update my blog while waiting!  Right now i'm charging my camera too.  Well...I am sitting in the laundry room, haha.  Everyone here is really nice.  The ground is quite soft (muddy) so will sleep in the car again - actually was surprisingly comfy.  The wind is howling with thunder and lightening so thinking it's gonna pour again tonight.

Well, it's 8:30pm, time to have a drink and read for a bit.

Hey! You added some Swift Current campsite pics when we weren't looking. Not a bad spot and the sun is shining! No more rain! No more rain! (remember Woodstock?)
