Barcelona 's football club is one of the most famous in the world and Catalan's sports window. This club founded in 1899 had become a Catalan institution and its motto is "Més que un club", which means "more than a club". This motto is true for millions of fans who come every year to the Camp Nou stadium to support their favourite team.

Visit the Nou Camp and its museum will give you an unforgettable experience and impression. Located in the north of the city, it is easily reachable by metro (L3, stop Zona Universitaria) or even take the Touristic Bus which stops right in front of the Camp Nou . With 100 000 places, Camp Nou is Europe 's biggest stadium. Museum's visit is a really popular attraction, with over one million visitors every year. The visit includes the changing room as well as the director's box. Finally, a football museum will close the visit.

A notable fact: during the 2006-2007 season, FC Barcelona was the second richest club in the world with an estimated revenue of 290€ million. This allowed the club to buy famous and talented players such as Eto'o, Thuram, Ronaldinho, Messi or Zambrotta.

There is a strong rivalry between Spain 's two most successful teams: FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. This competition began dozens of years ago and has as much political reasons as pure sport reasons. Under Franco's dictatorship the FC Barcelona was a way for Catalans to express their forbidden freedom and identity. Nowadays this rivalry is nothing but over : as Spain's two most successful clubs, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid challenge each other yearly for the league championship.

The last notable fact about FC Barcelona concerns heir particular sponsorship relation with the UNICEF. Since 2006 the club has signed an exclusive agreement with the UNICEF to only wear shirts with the UNICEF logo on it. This has been done to support international cooperation programmes for development and humanitarian aids programmes.

Barcelona offers lots of different accommodations, from pensions to five-star hotels. We recommend you to stay in Bcn Loft for apartments located in the very centre of Barcelona : www.bcnloft.com.
