Entry 3 of 9 | show all | print this entry

Marilyn Manson is coming to Barcelona for a unique concert on the 22nd of November! The concert, starting at 20h45 will take place in the Pavello Olimpic de Badalona, a city in the suburb of Barcelona .

Marilyn Manson is an American artist, born in 1969. Is stage name is formed from the two names Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson (a famous murderer in the 60's). He created his first metal band in 1989 and has since changed his musicians as well as his style. His first album "Portrait of an American family" is between the industrial rock and the alternative metal. Its following album, "Smells like children" includes the band's cover of Eurythmics' "Sweet dreams", which allowed the band to become world-known. Marilyn Manson's third album, "Antichrist Superstar" develops the theme of an apathy person becoming a rock star and finally transforms into a disintegrator. The album "The last tour on Earth" is a live album from two different tours. These tours allow Manson to fully develop a rich combination of arts for his shows: giants coming on stage, use of glitters and theatre objects, various costumes....
With the album "The Golden Age of Grotesque", Marilyn Manson chooses to include themes from the 30's such as the glamorous parties in Berlin . This album also includes much more electronic sounds than the previous.

Marilyn Manson's last album "Eat me, drink me" was released on 5th June 2005 . His show in Badalona is included in his 2007 tour "Rape of the world" from his last album. Trash metal band Slayer is touring with Marilyn Manson. We can wonder what Marilyn Manson is up to for this new show? Indeed, no one can pretend to know what Manson's shows are like. According to the album "Eat me, drink me", we can think of a more intimist show, based on some of Marylin Manson's parts of personality.
