Relaxing on the Nile

In general, the further south in Egypt I went, the more laid back the towns became and the warmer the weather got. Aswan was very relaxed and even the touts were courteous. I didn't do much site seeing in the 2 days I was in Aswan, but I did enjoy my first high-speed Internet connection in several weeks. The $12/night hotel I stayed at had fast Wi-Fi.
One afternoon I took a 2 hour felucca (sailboat) ride. It was quite relaxing and the boat sailed around Elephant Island, which lies in the middle of the Nile. Mostly I just took in good views of the Nile while in Aswan... Getting my onward train ticket in Aswan back to Cairo was only marginally easier buying my initial train ticket. No baksheesh necessary this time, but it did take about 1.5 elbow-throwing hours to buy the ticket. In retrospect, I think it would be worthwhile (but not cheaper) to take a package tour of the Nile Valley and have someone else deal with the train tickets.
I'm taking an overnight flight from Cairo to Bombay and then a short connection to New Delhi. So now I'm off to "Incredible India"! More thumbnails ...

Brian,
I know you told me all about the trip, but Hey, I was not sure it would actually happen... When I heard from some old EY buddies that you actually took off I was so happy to see your dream come through... Reading your updates are great. Now I just wounder is you ever come back... Here is my prediction:
1) You find a cutie little African girl that swoop you of your feet
2)... show all
