So today started of around 6 15 with the alarm going off so we could get up eat and head out to Marble Mountain before we had to leave. The mt was only about a 10 min. walk so Nate, Jeff and I decided to walk instead of get a taxi. On the way there, ppl on scooters decided to hassle us and see if we were going to the mt and then they wanted us to shop in their families store on our way back. They were actually very nice, but persistent.
We went up the mountain and had to climb a ton of stairs, obviously, to get to the top. On the way down there was this huge cavern that had a large Buddha and some other religious statues. We sweat our butts off getting up and back down the mountain. To our surprise(realize the sarcasm there) the girls that were hassling us earlier were waiting for us. So we decided to walk through their store.Jeff was looking for some things for his wife and i figured i'd just take a look and see what was in their store. I ended up buying a few little things and for that the girls ended up giving us a ride back to the hotel on their scooters.
We only had about an hour and 15 before the bus was to leave, so it was a very quick shower and pack everything up. While checking out we had to settle up with our room tab, about $138. It is more of a tourist area, so things are more expensive at the hotel. The bus then took us to the airport, where we had to fly from Da Nang to Ho Chi Mihn city then to Dalat. The flight to Ho Chi Mihn city was on an Airbus A321, so it was pretty new and nice. We had lunch after we got to the airport, then had another hour before it was time to board for Dalat. So when we boarded the plane we sat on the runway for about 20 min before they came over the intercom and said that we were going to have to be delayed due to mechanical difficulties with the plane. GREAT. A small puddle jumper that is having mechanical problems. But we ended up being bussed back to the terminal then out again to another puddle jumper prop plane to take us to Dalat. The flight was only an hour long, then we had an hour bus ride to the hotel.
Our hotel is downtown Dalat, right by the market district and the lake. The hotel is very nice and the scenery is a nice change of pace. Dalat is up in the mountains so it is only about 72 degrees and just bout no humidity. VERY nice from the 98 and about the same humidity we've had so far during our trip. After we got settled in we had dinner and then it was just relaxing for the big day of going back to work tomorrow. That's all of my update for now, I will keep you all posted tomorrow!
