Ok, sorry I missed a day of the blog.  Really busy here.  Anywho, clinic is always in the hospitals in the towns we go to.  Phu My is the town we were at on the 2nd day of clinic.  I was a little frustrated with clinic today for a while.  It is a hell of a time for me to start having problems adjusting cervicals in the chair.  But everyone was so tense, that is what made it tough.  The language barrier doesn't help.  I tried to have my translater tell them to relax but it wasn't working, they would shake their head like they understood and then flexed all of their sub occipitals.  But i got through that a little bit, i had to go back to the basics like i have done before when i struggled w/ cervicals just after i got into clinic.
So the 2nd day of clinic i saw 18 people.  Some interesting cases but mainly Headache, Low Back and Knee pain.  All of them are very greatful that we are their, and all of their pain doesn't go away right away, and trying to explain how chiropractic works to someone that you cannot communicate verbally with is tough.  But i think the translator did a fairly decent job of doing that.
Someone is waiting for the computer so i'll have to make the 3rd day short.  I woke up not feeling the greatest.  All i could think of was that damn, i'm getting sick.  Hell of a time for that when i have 2 more days of clinic.  But we got to clinic and it went down a little bit.
When we got to the clinic we felt like a college sports team heading out on the field for a championship game or a rockstar heading backstage after putting on a hell of a show.  There were like 3-400 people just standing outside waiting for us.  When we were walking in, everyone was smiling, some cheering and patting us on the shoulder as we walked by.  It was an AMAZING feeling.  People are that excited to see us.  They came in from pretty far away, we were told.
My first patient came in reporting that they had polio.  If they did have polio, I know that they have Cerebral Palsy along with some mental retardation.  Broke my heart, not being able to do very much for her, but I had to resort to the activator and adjusted her atlas, thoracics and low back.  I know that i made some impact but still.  It's an experience i will never forget.  Then after that i got into the thick of things.  Cervical chair was back and let the patients begin to feel the healing.
Right before lunch, I felt like absolute crap.  So i did decide to eat lunch and nap all during lunch.  I had Dr. Countryman show nate how to adjust my Occiput during lunch too.  When i woke up we still had 15 or so min. before patients.  Still felt a lil' rough and decided to take another Imodium with a Ibuprophen.  I know, I know, but like i have always said, medicine has it's place to and i'm not going to be too proud to take something if i need it.  In the afternoon, we were rocking good and the group saw a total of 700+ patients throughout the day.  I saw 25/6.  Something like that.  Had a very good day.
Dinner was on the Ship restarunt, on the open bow.  Went to bed as soon as i got done w/ soap notes and here i am, ready for a half day of clinic and visit an Orphan home.  Talk to you all tomorrow.  Take care!
