Cuba...Cuba...Cuba... Probably one word would suffice as to how I feel about the trip:
AMAZING!!!!!!!! So where do I begin?! Cuba is a beatiful, beautiful country. Havanna is probably one of the prettiest places I've ever been. The people were so nice and welcoming. They were ready to welcome us with open arms. I was a little surprised by that because of the embargo, I wasn't sure what they would think about a group of students from the US coming to live there for two weeks. However, they were sooooo welcoming. I have a few houses I could go to if I ever wanted to go back.
The last night we were there, we all talked about one thing we are taking away from this trip that we are sure of and one question. One thing I am sure of after this trip is that no governmental system is perfect. We do not have a perfect democracy. There are things we could do to improve the general quality of life. Cuba also isn't perfect in it's Socialist system. However, they are doing many things right, that maybe the US could stand to learn from. I think it is a matter of respecting each other as nations and share our ideas. Instead, we have to seclude each other from possibly making the world better. Weird, huh?
I think I could say a lot more about this trip, but I am going to let the picture speak for themselves. I will also have a group journal when I come back. So I will share that with anyone who wants to see it when I get back. (I also helped design the cover with some of my personal pictures!!!) Well thanks for checking up on me and caring. I am so close to coming home and CANNOT wait! I expect a huge hug from each one of you when I return! Thanks for reading. If you have questions, you are ALWAYS more than able to email me for more details!!
