Where I stayed
Tier Drop RV Park
What I did
Petroglyphs, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and more cactus
We are well rested after a week at Tier Drop RV Park in Wellton AZ. We met a lot of great people. We went to Painted Rock Petroglyphs (amazing) and a few of us from the park went on a jeep ride (7 jeeps and trucks), we also went into Yuma to a huge flee market (bought stuff we didn't know we needed).
Painted Rock Petroglyph National Monument was amazing. When you look at all those pictures carved in the "desert stained" rocks and see something that is 1000's of years old, all I could say was WOW!!!! It is so surreal knowing that this is just the beginning of my WOW moments. See if you can make out the drawings in the rocks.
Our jeep ride was a lot of fun. The trail was a new power line road and we stopped for a lot of photo-ops.....a lot :). It was really neat meeting all these people. They were mostly from British Columbia....one couple was from Tri-cities.
The flee market was for RVer's and was huge, with food (Rusty had fried pickle spears) and live music (2 person band played the latest and greatest country music along with some oldies that my dad always played (yes there were tears).
Wellton gave us several beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Oh, I forgot about the parade, yip we went to the 37th annual Wellton parade with quads and jeeps, fireman and border patrol, old tractors and cars, and all the Wellton RV parks were represented. These people threw so much candy...tons of candy and people young and old were running into the street to pick it up. They all knew this was going to happen cause they brought bags to put it all in. It was great.
On to Gila Bend AZ and the Sonoran Desert
