We pulled into Butterworth station at about 1300 today and as soon as we got off the train we were hassled by taxi driver's wanting to take us over Penang bridge and into Batu Ferringhi for a cost of 70 Ringit, now bear in mind the ferry costs RM 1.20 and the taxi from the ferry terminal to Batu Ferringhi cost us RM 25, I really do pity anybody that goes for the taxis..........
We checked into a pretty cool guesthouse and went for a walk along the beach where we saw some most unusual sights, being that the national faith of Malaysia is Islam a lot of Arab nations come here for holidays. We saw a fully clothed and veiled arab lady going parasailing! We thought we had seen it all until we saw a fully clothed and veiled lady jet skiing about 5 minutes later, I just wish the majority of Western nations could see more of this and that not everyone form the Middle East has it in for the west.
Afterwards we went for a walk up through the night markets and got rained on something chronic!
