Yea, China is awesome.

Saturday we basically walked around all day. For lunch we went to a little restaraunt ype place. When we walked in, every was immediately staring and smiling, and laughing as we pointed to things on the menu that we had no idea what they were, because it was all in Chinese. The head guy suggested something, so we went with that, and pointed to a couple other things, which turned out to be really good. When we finished the guy gave us some shots of rice wine for free.

The streets are just basically lined with all sorts of little shops and restaraunts. The less touristy areas, like by our hotel, the restaraunts consisting of a little room with about 5 tables. They all pretty much look the same, and are all the best chinese food youve ever had in your life.

Sat night we walked through the night market, which was a street of food stalls selling meat skewers of everything from chicken, beef, seahorse, starfish, scorpion, lizard...I had fried banana, noone ate the scorpion. After that we met up with the danes at Tianaman square and they took us to a little place by their hotel. There were 7 of us...We had 14 beers, a bottle of rice wine, 30 skewers of meat, a couple side dishes, and a giant bowl of some noodle dish that fed about all cost 14 dollars. After dinner we went and played some pool.

Sunday we repeated our lunch experience, which again turned out to be the best chinese food ever, and cost about a total of 5 dollars. Then we went to the temple of heaven (weve switched from walking everywhere, to now taking metro and cabs, much quicker). The temple of heaven is basically a big park with a bunch of buildings that were used during the ceremony of worshipping heaven back in the day. Really cool.

That night we went to a restaraunt for some Beijing (peking) duck, which again was awesome but a little more expensive. After dinner we went to one of the bar streets, where every bar had about 4 guys outside basically trying to drag you into their bar. Again, a lot more expensive than the 40 cent giant beers weve grown used to by our hotel, but it was a good change.

Today we did the forbidden city. Its so huge, I cant really explain it, just watch an old chinese movie, and its probably set there.

Tomorrow is the Great Wall.

I know I kinda just glaze over everything, but theres just soo much too remember. Everything about China is awesome, except sometimes the guys in Tianamen square trying to sell you kites can get a little annoying. Ive seen some amazing balancing acts on bicycles, most recently a guy with a desk, TV, microwave, and printer balanced on the back of his bike. The garbage men ride bikes. In all the little side streets and parks, theres circles of old guys playing Chinese games. In the temple of heaven there was just groups of people singing, dancing, playing music, for no reason at all...just because. The people are soo nice and helpful, huge change from Russia.

Ill try to upload some pictures, but the internet is kinda slow.
