. We had breakfast in the Hogs Head pub (complete with 'live' hogs head) and went on duelling dragons - once on red, once on blue. We then proceeded to explore the other areas in the park. Universal is much more aggressive with their rides in ensuring that guests get SOAKED on rides that involve water. They even have small mounted water pistols near the end of water rides, where spectators can pay 25 cents to shoot people with water as their ride finishes and they think they are safe. After getting soaked three times and finishing most of the rides off, we decided to have tea at Bubba Gumps. The parents all enjoyed their meals, Pat and Caitlin were not terribly impressed with theirs. Brad Patrick and Caitlin went off to watch Skyfall at the nearby cinema, Michelle, Deb and I went pack to the rooms for a rest.
We had to be up early today to get to the Gates of Universal Studios 'Islands of Adventure' to take advantage of the extra hour head-start we had on the general population because we were staying at a Universal Studios resort. The last time we were at Universal studios we didn't get into the park until about midday, it was absolutely packed and there was a two hour wait to get on the Harry Potter ride. In addition, there were lengthy waits to do just about anything in the park and we all gave up in disgust. So this time, we were determined to have a good look at Hogwarts, Hogsmeade etc. We all went on the Hogwarts ride - this was astonishing, facing dragons, a giant spider, dement ors and all sorts of other nasties as you were 'flown' from location to location around Hogwarts. It was so good, that Deb and I went straight back on it a second time. Caitlin then went to buy a wand - we watched Ollivander choose someone from the group of customers to have a wand selected for them. A most entertaining process
