We Watched 'Jedi Training Academy' while we had breakfast - it is just such a pity that they didn't have this when Jason was young. Basically, a heap of kids get selected to undergo Jedi training, where they are issued with padawan robes and a light sabre
. They are taught some basic moves - strike the left shoulder, strike the right shoulder, strike the left leg, duck etc. Darth Vader, Darth Maul and a couple of storm troopers then show up and put the kids through their paces. It provides some greatphoto opportunities and some great ohhh, so cute moments as well. We continued around the park, taking advantage of the continued low crowd levels, doing a few rides and generally relaxing. We saw the Christmas parade, and then headed back to the hotel, getting a taxi back into L.A. to our accommodation for the night.
Tip - it would be cheaper to rent a car at Disneyland, drive it to LAX, drop it at the airport and then get a free hotel shuttle to your accommodation, than to pay the $100+ taxi fare. Anyway, our hotel was clean, a large room and quite cheap - pre-paid several months in advance we got a good room rate - under $ 100 for the night.
Sadly, it's our last day at Disneyland. We have to check out of our lovely room and put the bags into storage. Getting everything packed is becoming a bigger and bigger challenge, and we are always mindful of the 23kg per bag allowance - it's very embarrassing when you get told to take some stuff out of your case because it's too heavy and you have to try to re-pack in front of a disgruntled line of people waiting to check in. So, today we packed up, put everything into storage at the hotel and headed into Disneyland for the last time. Because we have an early flight tomorrow, we have booked a night at the L.A. airport Hilton, so we have almost a full day at Disneyland to fill in. What a blow...
