There was very little sleep to be had - Deborah managed a couple of hours, I would have had 1 - 1 1/2. We landed in Honolulu at about 9:00 a.m. and got through customs quickly and without any problems. Starting to feel like I'm moving through mud, I have had about 9 hours sleep over the past three days. Our car is a very sporty looking Nissan Altina coupe. It's not a muscle car by any means, but it does look fast...

We got the GPS working, after Deborah convinced it that we had actually purchased the maps for the USA, and we were off. Some of the Polynesian names were very funny when pronounced by the GPS unit - it sounds like it's got a stutter. Fortunately we were on freeway for the first few km - this gave me time to get used to driving on the wrong side of the road. We arrived at the Aulani resort, where we were 'Welcomed Home', given a lai each and given the good - no great, news that we could get straight into our room - at 11:00 in the morning. Thank you Disney Corp., Thank you. After a shower had washed away some of the fog that was descending on both our brains we headed out for lunch. After some traditional Hawaiin cheesburgers for lunch, we checked out the resort (which is gorgeous) and went back to the room. I woke to Deborah having a bad cramp in her leg - a cramp that lasted for 5 minutes. It doesn't sound long - but it certainly is a long time if you are the one having the cramp! Tea was a buffet meal at the Makahiki restaurant, including sashimi, poke (?) california rolls, snow crab legs, oysters, prawns, rib-eye, heaps of salads, fish, chicken, and a variety of deserts. It was very nice - but pricey. (Well duh,- Disney you know). Another walk around the resort to take in the sights and then back to the room.
A few thoughts on Aulani.
The resort is very new and absolutely gorgeous. The staff are very helpful and very friendly The food, so far, has been typically Disney - pricey but quite nice. The room is like an upgraded hotel room, it includes a very comfy couch, microwave and sink. Very well decorated with a Hawaii theme. So far, the staff have gone out of their way to help us.
