Singapore, Good old singey. After 3 months in the sub Continent Singapore is a welcome relief, back to civilisation. As soon as we arrived at the airport we were loving this place. It has to be the most cleanest modern five star airport I have ever seen, Maja didn't want to leave. Even the toilet was spotlessly clean I wanted to stay there too, especially as we have been used to smelly squat toilets for the last three months.

The city is exceedingly modern mixed with old colonial buildings and its exceptionally clean. We are just loving the food too, the chilly crab or drunken prawns are our favorite so far. It seems like Christmas here too as there are Christmas trees, songs and over the top decorations all the shops, it's strange as its about 30c and sunny out side.
We went to raffles hotel last night for a Singapore sling cocktail that was as fantastically good as it was expensive. Then walk back along the water front admiring the views of the city.

We need to stay here while we wait for our Chines visa, then we are going overland into Malaysia to check out the beaches and marine life, maybe as far as Thailand but it depends on what we like on the way. but we need to be back in Singapore mid December to catch the fight to china for Christmas.

Hi Baz & Maja, Now you are talking! Very envious that you are in beautiful Singapore! I spent a weekend there on a work trip & managed to drink my entire trip allowances at Raffles in one evening drinking the Singapore Slings, having discovered that a friend was also in the city that night... needless to say I was somewhat wasted after that too. If you get a chance, take a taxi out to the Botanic Gardens, lovely for a walk and the Orchid Garden within it is well worth a visit. I went alone but still had a really enjoyable afternoon!
