Pokhara, we have finally made it to the Annapurna region where we will
start our circular trek that will take us about three weeks and take
us up to attitudes of 5500 metres
.
I have declared to Maja that we are doing it without the aid of
porters or a guide, as it will be more of an achievement and more more
fun doing it all ourselves [ against most people's advice ]. ' But
don't people die every year of altitude sickness or by getting lost in
the snow' says's she ,' don't worrie' says's I ' I have read a book it
will be alright ' . ' Ok' says's she 'we will do it'. What a brave
fool she is.

But before that we need to get a permit so we are going to chill out
here for a few days, it is a really nice place with good food a big
lake that you can row around in the sun with the vista of the world's
largest mountains all around you, working up an appetite for dinner

Wow
Baz,

If you select 'Satellite' on the map and zoom in maximum then you can actually see the field that you are staying in!!!!

Fair play to Maja for risking walking in a mountain range such as that with only yourself for guidance!

'It must be love, loooove, love da, da'
