Varanesi is on of the oldest city's in the world, and it looks. Its very spiritual and people come from all over the country to swim drink and die in the River Ganges, But you wouldn't catch me doing any of those ( we did take a boat trip) Especially as the have open air funeral cremations on the river banks.
I have never had so much hassle from Touts, rickshaw drivers, con men and dead body's as we wound our way around the narrow streets of this historic town. But saying that it has got a nice feel to it.
We have even had hassle from monkeys. We were in an open air roof top restaurant and getting bother from a monkey that wouldn't leave Maja a lone, so she jumped at it and shouted BOO, The cheeky monkey did the same back to her but showed it big teeth and proceeded to chase Maja out the restaurant screaming with her arms in the air. I Finnish my beer paid the bill and followed her out.
We are of to Dajeeling next for a nice cuppa tea
