We got the shinkansen for the last time back to Tokyo on Friday evening. On Saturday we had the full day to wander around any areas we had missed first time around and go back to any areas we liked so it was quite a relaxing day.
We spent some time in the trendy shopping district in the west side of town. The streets were packed with teenage shoppers all seemingly trying to out-wierd each other with their clothes. Among the more notable fashion statements was an old man wandering around in a few strange things including ear-rings containing live goldfish! All very interesting and made us feel really quite boring in our more normal clothes! We fly to San Francisco today at 6pm Tokyo time and arrive there at 11am San Francisco time on the same day - clever eh? Back to the english-speaking world...
