Just when we thought that the sun had deserted us the weather has picked up again.  Stratford is on the edge of Mount Taranaki (which looks a bit like Mount Fuji) National Park. 

Went walking around the mountain today (the top is covered in loose volcanic rocks so we thought we'd give it a miss).  Sadly, it was also covered with cloud so we couldn't see it either but we did see the top from the van driving further north.

Other than that, spent a lazy couple of days here re-charging the batteries (as we've been so stressed lately!).

Barry did spend a couple of hours in the tourist info centre this morning (which was very library like), watching Aberdeen win 4-0 in Europe, although as there was no volume control on the headphones I'm sure everyone could hear the score!

We rapidly continue North....
