We have been very fortunate to stay in Air Force Lodging. At $41 per night we have a two room suite with kitchen facilities. The laundry is free as well. The base exchange is very close as well as the Officer’s Club.
"Toire wa doko desu ka?" of course means, Where is the toilet? At the end of a long day on our feet we decided to stop at a traditional restaurant where you remove your shoes and sit on the rice mats. Kathryn needed to use the restroom so we asked the waitress
At the other end of the toilet spectrum, we stepped into a Mc Donalds "Macu Donaldu Do" to sample the Japanese version. There was the usual Saveur Faire and a few burgers of a different name. Of course we had to use the facilities and were surprised to find a toilet with a pallet of electronic controls! Check out the photos to see if you can tell what the buttons are for.
We are trying for a flight this morning to Iwakuni Japan. This Marine Corps Air Station is near Hiroshima so we will spend a couple days exploring the area. We hope to head to the southern tip of Kyushu to see Robert’s friend from 27 years ago. Then back up to see other friends in Honshu and perhaps a trip to snowy Hokkaido.
