We decided to drive to Fiesole, high in the Tuscan hills today, but even the Tom Tom had difficulty with the narrow streets and one way lanes in Florence. It is a real maze of streets and alleys and most of the locals drive little Vespa scooters or push bikes. However once we were out of the city, the country roads were very pretty but the little villages posed a problem for the Tom Tom once again. No doubt these villages are not meant for the modern day car. In the afternoon we put Hunter in the pram and took a walk through the streets near the hotel. We walked passed some beautiful shops to "The Baptistery of John the Baptist one of Florence's oldest buildings. Its exterior is made of green and white marble and 3 sets of amazing bronze doors. We all had an ice-cream and it was home to give Hunter his bath and tea and put him to bed.
