We have such a lovely view of the French Riviera from our balcony. We went across the promenade and had lunch on the beach before I had a swim while Graham hired a sun lounge and umbrella which you had to do if you wanted to sit on that part of the beach. There is no sand but large white pebbles which are not very comfortable to sit on. The water was cold but I finally got in and enjoyed it but found I had to swim or float as the stones and pebbles hurt your feet and getting out and back up the beach is very difficult. I enjoyed my swim, but I think Graham enjoyed the scenery and the eye therapy better. We took the little tourist train and went up to Colline du Chateau where we could look over Nice, to the harbour with the super yachts and huge ferries and through the old area of the town with its narrow streets and old buildings. The open top bus also took us around the tourist areas of Nice where we went to the old town for dinner in the "Nicois" way of life, trying the local produce.
