Today we went to Emyr Davies (a first cousin of Graham's on his father's side) at Llys Mwyn Llangadfan and his wife Evelyn gave us a delicious lunch.  Emyr had many family artifacts including a chair that was made by Graham's great grandfather and letters written from Australia by his father back to his family in Wales.  We went to the cemetery where some of Graham's relatives are buried and Emyr took us for a drive to the Foel.  This is the area where Graham's grandmother was born (Pentre-bach), grandfather was born (Llety-piod), and father was born (Llety-deryn).  These houses are still standing and are quite close to each other up the Valley Cum Twrch.  It was a pretty valley where the little river (Twrch) splashed and surged and Evelyn said they would often come for picnics in the area.   We were invited to a second cousin's of Graham's for dinner and had a very enjoyable late afternoon and evening with Graham Robinson.  He had gone into the caravan industry where he had converted some of his fields into a caravan park where people could buy a huge relocatable type van (we don't see anything like it in Australia) and leave it rented on his land.   This seemed a popular thing for people to do and they could use it themselves or rent them out.  There didn't seem much to do in the area although he had made some lakes (I naively called them ponds because they were so small) and stocked them with fish.  We had a delicious home cooked dinner and Graham was very pleased with the day having been able to talk about what life was like in Wales when his father left in 1925 and perhaps the reasons why.
