As the weather was better today we set off for Betws-y-coed, a busy place a bit similar to Maleny/Montville - towns with boutique shops and extremely pretty scenery.  It was a scenic drive through the rolling hills and farms of Wales and then on the way back over steep mountains where sheep graze on the mountains and look like little cotton balls on the side of the mountain.  As the road descended we went past the old slate mine workings.  This area was massive mountains of slate, stark and glistening where slate has been mined for roofing.  These are amazing desolate cliffs of slate.  We had dinner with Francis and David's son, Gwnne and his family.
