Sain was very kind to show me where to find a Post Office, so we set off walking in the rain with her twins in the pram to post these souvenirs. The shopping centre was very modern and very similar to our "Myers" centre. We found a Post Office that like ours in Australia sells the boxes and packaging to pack everything up. Well after an hour or so of the attendant having trouble with the computer and not being able to send it surface mail, I paid some enormous amount for the parcels to get back to Australia, and commented to him that the English didn't take that long to send shiploads of convicts to Australia - for nothing!!! He laughed - but it was worthwhile not having extra luggage to carry for the rest of our trip. After that I set off to see the "Beatles Story" which is on Albert Dock and was an extremely well presented display of all the life and times of the Beatles. I would have liked more time there but that is always the story, so I had a quick walk around Albert Dock and one day would love to go back to see the Maritime Museum and the International Slavery Museum, and take the ferry across the Mersey
Albert Dock
. The Docks of Liverpool have all gone through an enormous rebirth much the same as along the Brisbane River where the warehouses have been made into apartments and the riverside dotted with restaurants and entertainment areas - very nice! We drove through this area to have a look at all the docks and Merseyside and then headed for John Lennon airport to fly to Belfast. The airport was less than clean but after a short delay we were on our way. We landed at Belfast International Airport and we surprised at the ease. We picked up our car and drove to our hotel at Castle Upton Estate, Templepatrick, which was close to the airport but quite a distance from Belfast, which is what we wanted. As we drove from the airport it was as if we were in toyland after the big expanses and housing of Russia. The rolling hills were so green with a patchwork of little fields divided by hedges. The population of Northern Ireland is only 1.7 million. We went looking for a good Irish pub dinner and perhaps a song or two but in the town of Antrim the only place that was open was Indian so after driving around for a while we found "Ellie Mays" and had an enjoyable dinner there.

The Luck of the Irish
The green hills look so clean! I suppose there is a wee bit more rain in Ireland than here in sunny North Queensland!
