After our diving in Cozumel we decided to take a couple days off and chill out in a town further south down the coast called Tulum. We stayed in a little cabana on the beach. It was very peaceful. We didn't get up to much there. We did go and see the Maya ruins next door which were pretty cool as they were literally on the coast line, very different to anything we had seen before. Laura and Dave joined us on our second night in Tulum.
The next morning we dropped off our bags at a hostel in town and took a bus to do another set of ruins about 45 mins away, called Coba. These again were different as they were surrounded by jungle. Not many of the sites had been excavated but we got a chance to climb and very tall structure, which definitely tested my fitness!
We had a pretty chilled out evening. Our hostel did a really cheap BBQ where you cooked your own food. We didn't want to do anything crazy though as we were heading to Belize the next day - should be interesting!
