It's another rainy day here in Africa. We’ve all had the Hilary Duff song, "Let the rain fall down..." stuck in our heads! Ha-ha. I got off to bed at a decent hour last night so I am feeling pretty good this morning.

The schedule seemed to be a little different at the schools today so I didn’t teach until the afternoon, which was nice because I got to prepare a little better for my lesson.

My lesson plan topic was interesting today. The Unit title was drugs and alcohol…here are some of the vocab words I taught:

-         Alcoholic

It was interesting to say the least. It was a tad awkward to have the entire class repeating all these words out loud but in the end they got their exercises right, so I was pleased. Although I was a little sad later because I had to spend second break grading so I didn’t get to much time with the kids today but overall it was a pretty good day at school. Except I can’t believe how fast it's going. Only 6 more days at this school left! L This is going so so fast!

Our ride home was also an adventure today due to the mud. First, our jeep broke down, so we tried to get out and attempted walking. That was funny. We were slipping and sliding everywhere; the students saw us struggle and were helping us walk! Ha-ha. Then our car began to work again until another lake of mud. Our car was horizontal in the mud. So we all had to get out and push, it was pretty funny, and mud got EVERYWHERE! But with our brute strength, we fixed it. We had made it almost home until it happened one last time. By then, we were already so muddy; we decided to have a little mud fight. The Mud flinging began and we all came back, looking a little crazy but it was so much fun.

Then, we got cleaned up before class and dinner. Now, I am working on catching up on these journals that I have been so behind on! J Hopefully another early night to bed again!

Ps. I finally added some pics, these are just a few from the trip so far, I have more to add but will do that soon also. There are about 1,000 of my students but I just can't help it :)

SO EXCITED to see the pics your posted! Beautiful faces! And yes I can see how you are enamored with Carolyn! So sweet! Thanks for all of the pics of the school, and other details. It's great to have some illustrations to go along with your narratives...not that they were needed. :) Remember to get in the pics too! You'll be glad you did when you get to look back at them!
Love you much! xo

p.s. Just wondering who started the mud fight?? (a-hem lol)

Just finished the last five blogs and will be rereading them over again this evening -- wonderful reports of your days and so interesting. Loved the pictures and you are so right; the children are adorable. Nice to see the school and a bit of the grounds too. I think you will have to give the family an all day presentation when you get home! We are back from GA and looking forward to the end of the school year activities of our grandchildren and to you getting back home with us. Our love and prayers as always.

I knew when your car got stuck in our driveway during that ice storm a couple years back there was a reason....I am sure that "stuck in the snow, my ice fall and Kellie and you laughing away experience" helped you know what to do with your jeep in the MUD in Africa!! Bahahaha...I hope you didn't drop your camera in the mud tho....any pics of that?? Oh My! Loving the pics and your blogs...the kids are Loving you!! Keep up the great work!
