What I did
Its really hard to miss once you find it!
Khaosan is a road like no other and although the streets running parallel are also crammed with stalls, food, bars, vendors, touts and people (lots of people), Khaosan is the big daddy! Its fully crazy with so much going on it can be hard to get your bearings. Most of the people cramming the bars and road are tourists/backpackers and there is a constant stream of food vendors and little old Thai women trying to sell you a novelty hat or wooden frog. The place is mad but intoxicating and if you enjoy doing a spot of people watching then grab a beer (big bottle of Chang or Singha from 50 - 100baht depending on the bar), sit back and watch the lunacy. And that's before the sun has even gone down.
Friday evening we stopped at a bar on Khaosan which had cocktails for 99b and ordered white russians, mmmm... a nice refreshing white russian in the hot night air :) Well who knows what was in that drink but it definately wasn't a white russian! the top half was white, the bottom half was black, it was massive and it made you breathe fire! Very tasty though and you got half a pineapple wedged onto the side of your glass in case you got peckish. Luckily for our livers we didn't have enough cash on us to get a second one...
...there's always tomorrow.
