Monday November 12th, to Brasilia
Another day in Lencois would have been nice, but the choices were to leave on Monday or Wednesday by an Emtram bus with a short connection time in Seabra,  or leave at 6.35am by Real Express (and miss breakfast) and wait 6 hours in Seabra. You can also leave at 7pm on RE but only on Monday, Friday and Saturday and wait 6 hours in Seabra till the 1.40am bus. Not much choice, is it, really ? Our first Emtram bus was just like a Bolivian bus, an hour late, dirty and no suspension. Seabra is a dusty hot place, where 6 hours wait would feel like 24, so we didn't mind. The bus to Brasilia kindly waited for us while we ate a quick lunch. Then we found why people in Lencois said 'What, you're not going on Emtram'!. It had no air con, and with temperatures in at least the high 30s for hours, we cooked. We reckon is is destined for Bolivia next week. The scenery was nice, odd-shaped mountains and lots of green before Seabra, then plenty of green and huge cactus afterwards.
In mid afternoon the bus pulled into a depot and parked over an inspection pit. A diesel mechanic roared up on his motor bike, and was handed a plastic bag of spanners by the bus driver. A mechanic without tools ? With the aid of 4 bus staff and the mechanic, all in the pit, the bus was mended.
The plus of this bus was that overnight there was no air con to freeze us, and we got a pair of seats apiece, and managed to sleep.
