Once I got back into Posadas, I checked into my hotel and walked around looking for a place to have lunch. I found a nice-looking pizzeria but I was having trouble deciphering the menu. As luck would have it (once again!), the table next to me was occupied by five lovely female English, not students, but teachers! So they helped me to order and we had a nice little chat before they had to return to a seminar that they were attending nearby. We had planned for me to join them at the seminar after I had finished my lunch, but I was unable to get past the gatekeeper as it was not appropriate for me to interrupt the seminar. So I went back to my hotel for a rest and came back as the seminar was ending, but unfortunately everybody had to go home by then. I then arranged with one of the attendees to try to meet in the evening, but that didn't work out either due to schedule differences. (I had to wake up early the next morning to catch my next bus, and these Argentines don't get started until after I go to bed!)
I forgot to mention, but the pizza at lunch was AWFUL - one of the worst I've ever attempted to eat. I left the restaurant very hungry and didn't get a chance to eat again until the restaurants opened again at 8 p.m. for dinner! But I found an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet and I had a stuffer of a dinner for only 10 pesos (including drink), which is less than three and a half U.S. dollars. The irony is that my pizza (that I couldn't eat) cost more than that! Oh, well.
