I met a girl at the tourist information office and was invited to her home for dinner. While they were stuffing food into me, I got the story about how the father had gambled away the family home and owed every cent he earned to the local loan sharks. It seemed that they saw me as a potential solution to their financial woes. In order to win me over, they fed and fed and fed me. And when I got back to my hotel, the whole dinner came out again (the same way that it went in) - all over the bathroom.
That was 15 years ago. I wonder what ever happened to them.
