Well, after quite a bit of time in Tuebingen and a wary move to Stuttgart, Phillip--a fellow language course struggler-- and I decided to take off any where a cheap train ticket would let us go. We were able to track down a ticket that would allow us to travel to Poland, Czech. Rep., Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzgovina, and .Serbia and Montenegro. And that decision marked the point of a lot of firsts. There's a system here in Germany called Mitfahrgelegenheit which literally means riding with opportunities aka carpool. We took advantage of that, hopped a ride from Stuttgart to Munich where we found ourselves literally up to our hips in snow. Packs, food bags and all we made it to our first point though. And yes, I did only bring a backpack--a big one at that...but I earlier learned the tricks such as one pair of jeans can really be worn four or five times, underwear can be easily washed in the sink and hair doesn't need to be dried or straightened, I think my hair actually thanked me for this trip! Ha, but that's just the beginnings of the lessons to be learned on this trip!
