Have I told you how much I love my city yet?  And if I'm having so much fun exploring my own city... i can just imagine the people and sights I'll discover during my year off...

Last Thursday (Aug 2), People Project performed in a cool venue on St. Denis.  Their energetic and enthusiastic shows never disappoint!  And since I'm always carrying my camera with me, I unexpectedly ended up as their unofficial photographer!  Thanks to C & J for accompanying me to the concert =D

I've managed to get my Fridays off for the past 10 weeks due to negotiating summer hours at work.  This arrangement has allowed me to catch up with friends that I haven't had a chance to hang out with...

This past weekend, L and I hit Jean-Talon Market, one of our happy places in Montreal.  It's hard to be in a bad mood while strolling through the Market: cheerful vendors, bright coloured fresh produce, smiling patrons enjoying a leisurely Saturday afternoon.  What's not to love?

I also discovered my Scottish heritage... well, not really, but I was invited by Trina to check out the Highland Games in Pierrefonds this past Sunday.  There was supposedly a Mexican bagpiping band participating in the Bagpipes Competition.  Now, whether or not they were Mexicans playing bagpipes or Scots who've migrated to Mexico, was never clarified.  Also caught a glimpse of some highland dancing and the caber toss!

I caught up with an old high school friend at Rumi's on Fairmont and Hutchison, sharing a plate of mezzes as a light dinner.  Always fun to reminisce, non?  I ended my evening at another lovely milonga session at St. Viateur park.

Couldn't have planned a better weekend!
