Today we were supposed to be in Barcelona. However, last night we were told we couldn't. At first we thought the announcement had something to do with terrorist attacks, then it started sounding as a joke, but soon we realized what it was all about.

Apparently Spanish fishermen are mad about not getting enough money, so they had come up with the idea of blocking the ports of Barcelona and Valencia. Eventhough our ship is a whole lot bigger than their fishing boats, the captain thought it best that we didn't force our way through, but instead sailed to Palma de Mallorca and postponed Barcelona for a day.

At breakfast we were joined by Aaron and Cortney, and (un)fortunately also by a couple with some very strange stories to tell... They weren't married, they didn't feel any obligation towards each other, they just spent time together. We got the story of her five children who's father had been violent towards her before they finally got divorced, although they weren't correctly legally married as he wasn't properly divorced from his former wife, but now he was dead, so it was all good! You would think that after a story like that she would hook up with someone "normal", but no! The man still wore a medal from his last cruise, where he won the competition for most hairy chest! To make things even better, he told us about his favorite nude beaches, especially the one in St.Maarten ,which is one of our ports. I just want to know in which direction it is, so that I can run off the other way!

I had already been to Palma, so I didn't have anything specific I wanted to see.
The four of us went to the centre, where we dropped off Carmella at an internet café, and then Cortney, Aaron and I continued on to the cathedral. We did our very best in acting like tourists; took loads of pictures of the cathedral from every possible angle, before we started paying attention to our growling tummies, and then sped off towards the ship.
After having had a greasy lunch, a girl has got to have that sometimes, I went to the gym, and was soon joined by Carmella who had met a friend in Palma.

Tonight was crab night, So there was no way we would let down Martina and Ladislav by only ordering once! As always desert is the highlight of our meal, and we don't just settle for one each. We order those we think sound nice, and if our Czech waitress doesn't recommend anything else, we can always chow down a banana split, too! :)
