Making our way up the coast to Salvador we have decided to take our time and stop off at some of the locations that the Brazilians themselves go to when on holiday. The first of our scheduled 2 stops was the small town of Trancoso, which boasts 3 or 4 of the top 10 best beaches in Brazil.
Our bus finally go to Porto Seguro after a long journey and we had to get from there through the town of Arrial D' ajuda (I don't think that's spealt right) and on to Transcoso. It was pretty cool making our way over because we got to check out the other 2 towns to compare with as we were going to stay at one of them instead. After a boat, bus and taxi ride, all of which we took over with our huge back packs and Steve and Jade's pot that they insist on carrying everywhere, we finally arrived and were pretty chuffed that we picked this place out of the 3. It was low season so was very quiet and there were no other travellers around, only locals, giving us the feeling we'd ventured off the main trail a little. We managed to get shacked up in a really nice pousada for very cheap (less than £10 a night for us both) including breakfast.
The next 3 days were spent strolling around, chilling on probably the most beautiful beaches I've seen in the whole trip and doing a 13k beach walk from where we were to the next town along. It was an amazing place really and just what we needed after a week partying in Rio.
