In the North Island now at lake Taupo and plan to do the Tongariro crossing tomorrow which is a 6 hour walk and takes in some of the scenery from Lord of The Rings so should be good. We've just come from Wellington where we spent 2 nights. The first in a camp site and the second in a mutli-story car park in the city so we could go out. Had quite a good time but there's not much there in city terms but we did bump into a couple we travelled with in Africa totally randomly while we were walking back to the van which was a totasl surprise but really good to see them again and hopefully going to go and stay with them for a night or 2 at their house on thw est coast.
