After Cairns and the Scuba diving we picked up campervan number 2 (it's a bag of shit) and started our move down the east coast. The weather has been terrible you'll be all pleased to know. Hot as a mother but pissing it down all the time. We've not been able to sleep at night coz of the heat but can't open the windows coz we get soaked. We spent a night at truck stop in Townsville which was pretty grim but they had free showers which was OK. We then kicked on the Airlie Beach to sail for 3 nights round the whitsunday islands (almost couldn't get there though coz of floods but we made it in the end) but low and behold I've managed to pick up another foot another injury. I'd been bit by some mosquito and itched it that much in my sleep that I peeled a piece of skin off the size of a 50 pence piece on the roof of my left foot. It was OK at first but then it got infected and by the time I got to Airlie Beach it was fooked and I could hardly walk. Like a true bison though I deciced to soldier on and see how it went
After a beer and some food my foot had gotten really bad and I couldn't walk porperly or put weight on it. All the docotors were shut and they don't have a hospital there so I had to wait till the morning. I eventually got there the next day at 8am and was told I had some crazy infection so the doc had to peel all the dead skin off the sore with a pair of tweasers, cover it up, perscribe me some anti-biotics and charge me $70 for the privelage
Luckily our boat sailed that day and the weather was starting to clear. The sailing was OK. The islands are really pretty and we were on a real old fashioned japanese pearling boat that has been restored. There was me and 4 birds on the boat, along with the captian (aptly named 'Captain Sparrow') and his missus. They were good hosts and seeing as though they live on the boat we were basically living in their home for 3 nights. IT was mostly pretty chilled out. Did some snorkling in our full body stinger suits which are shockingly skin tight (think Si in his ridler outfit that time) and a pain in the arse to wear. It's either that though or die form a jelly fish sting. The rest of time we read and slept and ate really. The sleeping wasn't great and I was knackered by the time it was over, simply too hot and too cramped but it was a good experience all the same.
At Rainbow Beach at the minute and heading off to Fraser Island tomorrow in a 4x4 (it's the worlds biggest sand island). Spending 2 nights there which should be good and then off to Brisbane.
I promise i'll put some pics up when I get back on thursday.
See ya!

. Trying to be buoyant, what with the weather, my foot and the recently received information that our boat might not yet be able to sail, we booked into a camp site near the harbour, bought some heinze big soup and some crusty bread for tea and set up our campervan for the afternoon and night ahead. As the day wore on the rain just got worse and we were getting sick of sitting couped in the van so decided against eatin the soup in favour of a shower and a trip into town for a proper feed. Pop up problem number 10 million and one. We've only left the bleeding lights on and got a flat battery! Well chuffed. We couldnt get a jump start coz of the rain (torrential) so we decided to shower, wait for it to calm down and then get a jump start. In the shower things only got worse. Problem 10 million and 2 was Danny getting stuck in the shower and being a bright spark trying to use the car key to prize open the door, bent the key. Great. Couldnt open the van door, couldnt start the dead engine, getting very pissed off. I luckily managed to bend the key back in my teeth and eventually got a jump start of another travelling couple and we headed for something to eat. After a beer and some food my foot had gotten really bad and I couldn't walk porperly or put weight on it.
